Bunnies!

As many of you know, we had some surprise bunnies late last year!  Our "male" bunny, Olly, had a litter of 7... we lost one the day after their birth, but the rest have grown to be adorable, furry balls of cuteness!  Here are a few photos from their birth up to weaning.... they are now in their own coop outside and are all doing great!

Our surprise bunnies, on their birthday!

They were so tiny...

At home in their nest.

Finally, they are getting some more fur!

Their eyes are still closed...

With their eyes open, they are much more mobile!

This is about how big they were when mama died.  We had to start hand-feeding them at this point!

Charlie, my personal favorite :)

Getting fuzzier...

Here's Pinto, sucking up his milk!

I love how they sleep nose-to-nose!

Hi, Charlie!

Annalee made a sweater for Chewy.... he is not as fluffy as the others :)

Summer 2015

So much has happened since my last post... for one, we are no longer in Colorado!  We spent 10+ months in the mountains and now are back home in Florida....  there's nothing like moving away from a place to make it feel like home.  Colorado was beautiful- I mean extremely beautiful.  But, there were only a couple months during our stay when I was actually warm.  The rest of the time, I was wearing a coat and heavy socks inside the house just to keep from shivering!  I am not a cold weather person, and I am so thankful to be in a warmer climate again...

Here are some left-over pictures of our last months in Colorado, and some of our homecoming in Florida.  It was great to have some time away to experience new things, but it's even greater to come home to the place we all love...

Our neighborhood bear who was always trying to steal our trash...

This is when Annalee and I were working on our medicinal herb book... we will publish some day!
Colorado has gorgeous wildflowers and wild edibles!

Doggy heaven!

Annalee, home again!

Annalee's catch!

We missed our fire nights... The front field is a great place to stargaze, too!

My most avid picture-avoider, Elena!

I caught all 4 kiddos in one picture :)

April Blizzard and a Special Visit!

This post is a little long... but then, we've been up to quite a bit lately!  The weather was beautiful earlier in the month, then we had a blizzard- right about the time we had some friends from Florida come to visit!  That didn't slow us down, though!  Just look at the fun we've had, snow or no snow...

The kids have really enjoyed the pond lately... because of the late snow we've gotten, it's about to bust its banks!

I had to get a shot of this little guy :)  It seems we have a couple nests of chipmunks under our wood pile...

Elena made Noah's day by making him some creme brulee!  Just look at the joy on his face :)

This was his favorite part... Noah even got to try the torch.

Three days after the ones I took at the pond... 2 feet of really wet snow!

Perfect for a snowball fight!  Our Florida friends really enjoyed it!

I tried to stay out of it ;)

The snow was perfect for snowman building!

This snowman has a few unexpected features... yes, those are butt cheeks.

We had a great spot for sunbathing :)

Sunny days are the best!
On our hike, the kids didn't get enough of the climbing rocks...

Annalee tried to photo bomb Elena :)

Buddies!
When we got sick of the cold, we headed to the Indian Hot Springs in Idaho Springs...

The water was 90+ degrees!  You can see the steam coming off the surface :)

The pool dome was filled with tropical plants...

The water was so warm, it felt nice to jump out for a breath of cool air!

This pipe was pumping hot water directly from the spring...

The healing waters left thick mineral deposits on the wall of the pool!  I felt so relaxed after our dip :)  I think I need a life-long pass to this place...

On to the sledding hill!  The sun was so bright, my pics are a little over-exposed!

We had the hill almost all to ourselves.

It was so warm, we all shed our coats almost immediately.

The blizzard was unexpected, but we made the most of it!  What a wonderful visit from our dear friends :)  We miss you guys!!  Come back soon :)
