Homeschool News:

I am down to 2 homeschoolers this year! Annalee will be a HS Senior and Gabe will be a HS Sophomore... wow, time flies!

Annalee is working towards becoming a professional photographer. You should check out her Instagram account: shots.by.anne :) She is very talented!

Gabe just finished his Drivers' Ed course through FLVS and is the last of the kiddos to get his permit. Now, onto driving on the road- God, help me!

Lovers' Key Beach

We're back at the beach! The snowbirds are starting to go home, and traditionally-schooled kids aren't on vacation yet, so we went to the beach on a Thursday afternoon... This time, we tried out Lovers' Key which is located south of Ft. Myers Beach.

Gabe was disppointed because we forgot his floatie vest and he couldn't go in the water above his waist. I was relieved, because the fishermen just up the beach from us pulled in a 2-foot hammer head shark shortly after we arrived!

The girls were content with looking for shells for their collections! Although we didn't find any big, whole shells, it was fun to walk on the beach in such beautiful weather (about 80 degrees and sunny).

Andy and Noah are half-fish, so they weren't bothered by the capture of the baby shark. I didn't see much of them until we left a couple hours later!

Gabe's 5th Birthday!

Gabe turned 5 on April 9th! My baby is not a baby anymore! He asked me if he could start school now and was disappointed to learn that he won't be in kindergarden until September...

Anyway, for his birthday wish, Gabe wanted to go to a family entertainment center and ride the gokarts. Here are some pictures Andy took of the kids and me. Annalee didn't like the gokarts last time we rode them, so she sat this one out...

Gabe and I had the fastest gokart (or I just had the heaviest foot!) We lapped everyone but Noah.

Here come the big kids...

And the winners are... Gabe and Mommy!

My weirdo kids :) Gabe picked out these hats for his special day, but nobody wore them right!

Make a wish, Gabe!

Happy 5th Birthday, Fabio!

Elena's 9th Birthday!

Elena and a portion of the 14 lbs of melt-and-pour soap she got for her April fool's birthday!

Elena decided on a frozen-pizza party- since we live so far from town, only one pizza place delivers here. It happens to be one that Elena doesn't enjoy!

Our pizza party!

We also ran out to Dairy Queen for an ice cream cake! Cookies and cream- yum!

Elena blows out her candles for her 9th birthday! Happy birthday, Elena!

Our Trip to Dallas

This was the kids very first time flying! Because of my "directional issues", I was late in getting to the airport and almost missed our flight :) But, after the initial chaos, our trip just got better and better! We traveled to my sister's house in Dallas, TX, and spent a wonderful 4 days with her family and our parents (who came down the week before us). It was great to see all the kids playing and getting to know each other better. I just wish we were all closer so we could do this more often!

Mom's birthday dinner- with ALL her grandkids! Happy Birthday, Mamaw!
