I am down to 2 homeschoolers this year! Annalee will be a HS Senior and Gabe will be a HS Sophomore... wow, time flies!

Annalee is working towards becoming a professional photographer. You should check out her Instagram account: shots.by.anne :) She is very talented!

Gabe just finished his Drivers' Ed course through FLVS and is the last of the kiddos to get his permit. Now, onto driving on the road- God, help me!

Kids and Treasure

We've been busy working on the new place... just because the house was ready to move into, that doesn't mean the work is done! With three large out-buildings and an apartment filled with the previous owner's "stuff", we've got a lot to sort through and throw away.

One of the neat things about going through someone else's "stuff" is that sometimes you find treasure! Andy told me about some canning jars that he located in the attic space of his shop building, so the kids and I checked it out. We came back to the house with 52 canning jars- enough to get me started on my next project :) We've also unearthed a hutch that I will stain and use in the kitchen, a table that is perfect for homeschooling, a 1960's flip-style sewing machine table (with sewing machine), and a really nice urban terrain stroller. There may still be more treasure awaiting the next expedition...

The pool's clean! This is the same pool that used to be a stagnant pond with its own ecosystem- mosquitoes, tadpoles and fish...? Really, some of the fish were as big as my hand. Now, with a new filtering system and fresh chlorinated water, the kids can't get enough. They have been enjoying a nice, cool swim between the afternoon thunderstorms :)

It feels soooo good on a hot, sunny South Florida day!

Gabe's been working on his dive... but can't keep his head down!

Elena didn't want to get in today... but the other kiddos had a ball!

Gabe has been losing teeth like crazy! Here's the latest picture of his toothless grin ;)

Noah told me it was time to take a picture of all the kids together... so, we took this one. We are awaiting our homeschool group's yearbook, and this one will be featured on our "family page". I'll send you a link when it's all done!
