While the rest of the country is having a drought, we are getting more rain than we can handle... it has been raining every day for about a month now. From noon on, the clouds move in and let loose on us- ugh. I'm done with the rain.
Here's our creek... it is usually about a foot below the tree on the right. It is busting over its banks now!
Looking the other way... it's in the yard! We need to send out some messages in bottles, since this flows right into the river and on into the Gulf Stream :)
Annalee helped me harvest our mangoes this past weekend :) We got a total of 10 this year, since our mango tree is growing under the oak canopy. They are ripening in my kitchen and should be ready to enjoy soon!
Andy and the kids took advantage of a break in the rain yesterday. They made a living "Hull totem pole" :)
I've been baking a LOT lately, being stuck inside and all :) Here's some pumpernickel sourdough I made last week...
Here's our new friend! A baby owl got stuck on the front porch and was still there in the morning... I caught it with my hands (he was so tired) and released him, with Gabe's help :)
I got my mug in a local paper! This is the announcement for our annual homeschool orientation meetings... that's me with my big mouth open :)
Have a great summer, everyone! Looking forward to dryer weather... :)
