4H, Lee's Sharpshooters

The boys had their first 4H meeting this past Sunday!  They are members of the Lee's Sharpshooters 4H club, which teaches about all shooting sports (archery, rifles and even skeet shooting with shot guns).  It is a really organized group and has attracted quite a membership this year!  Here's some photos of the boys and their club getting ready to shoot:

Noah shot the rifle pretty well...  and he hit one of his skeets!

This little guy wanted to watch the fun

Gabe, getting ready to shoot...

Noah and his buddy, waiting to shoot skeet...

Since Gabe is not 10, he shot pellet guns instead of rifles...

They both had a great time!  :)

Annalee turns 11!!

Our sweet Annalee just had another birthday!  She decided that for her birthday she wanted us to rent a giant water slide and spend all day outside.  Mission accomplished.  Here are some highlights from her special day:

Happy Birthday, Annalee!

The kids had Andy and I up by 7:30... and they were trying out the water slide before I changed out of my pj's :)

Make a wish!  Elena made her a chocolate cake with oreo frosting...

Annalee had a great day with her friends... and the giant water slide ;)
Happy birthday, sweet baby!

Our Visit to Indiana

This visit to Indiana was a little different than past trips!  My parents have moved to Santa Claus, a little town dedicated to the joys of Christmas :)  Santa Claus also has a very cool theme park that has expanded quite a lot since I was a kid.  We were also able to visit my grandmother, who just turned 90 this year!  The kids and I really had a great time!  Here are some pics of our activities:

Our visit wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Lincoln Boyhood Memorial.  It is a great place to hike through the Indiana hills... hills are one thing I miss down here on the sandbar :)

Our next stop was Marengo Cave!  This was the kids favorite tour.  Ever.  We went on the Dripstone Trail tour, which was a 60-minute walk through the cavern.  In it, we saw some pretty cool formations and an underground river.  Oh, and we experienced TOTAL darkness!  Pretty scary.  The temperature of the cave was a cool 52 degrees... how refreshing!

The kids love my Aunt Lana's property... Here they are climbing the rocks in the creek bed.

Four generations in one photo!  My grandmother is still spunky in her golden years :)

In Santa Claus village, where my parents live, the little ones and  Pop decided to take a dip!  Noah and Elena entertained themselves with a noodle war...

I took photos of Holiday World on my phone... hopefully, I can locate them and post them soon! :)
We had a great time and hope to visit again soon :)

UPDATE:  I found the Holiday World pictures :)  Here are the pictures I took on my phone before heading to the water park...

The little ones got a chance to drive the Tin Lizzies!

Gabe and I kicked some butt on the bumper cars...

Notice, everyone is wet... we must have ridden the Raging River ride 5 times in a row!  And I got soaked every time.  Elena won some stuffed animals for her siblings :)

The end of a very fun day!  The water park wore us out!

Time for a nap!

We were happy to spend so much time with Grandma Labhart :)

Time to play at the park... I rode one, too.  I think there's a weight limit on those things.  Hehe
