Just a shot of my newly-organized homeschool corner... The younger kids and I are going to clean some Roman coins this year and do a more intense geography study. My big kids are starting classes with Florida Virtual School!! I am excited about this because they will have a teacher other than me for two classes apiece (Noah is taking 7th grade language arts and algebra I, and Elena is taking 6th grade language arts and creative photography I). This will free up more time for me to spend with the younger ones, who need extra help with reading. I was given some new weather/environment curricula from another homeschooling friend of mine and we're really looking forward to digging into it, too!
Roy is growing and growing! He loves to cuddle with the kids... and chew holes in their clothing. We're working on that. Here he is cuddling with a very sleepy Gabe :)
I had a girls' day out with some very good friends lately- a glass of wine and a make-over were in the cards, and I had a blast with my girlfriends :) For those of you I haven't seen in a while- that's me in the peach tank.
The kids have really gotten into roller skating this summer! We discovered a great program at www.kidsskatefree.com , where you can get free skating passes all summer... since the kids got skates for Christmas, we are all set!
They have gotten really good at staying on their feet on the skating rink. Noah really bruised himself up the first time out, but now he barely falls at all!
Annalee reeeeaaaally likes skating!
There's Elena, too! She tends to go too fast for picture-posing :)
We have started Roy on a raw food diet- all he eats is meat and bones. It's supposed to mimic the natural diet of his wolf ancestors... and he loves it!
We also adopted three Guinea Fowl keets last week! They are adorable... although I'm told that won't last too long. Check out pictures of adult guinea fowl online- they're so ugly. Hahahaha!
